Hot summer, continuous learning.
As soon as August began, the “Crop Cultivation Techniques” training course organized by the “Ruibo Te Ecological Farming Academy” officially kicked off. The promotion and application of agricultural technologies have always been crucial to enhancing the level of agricultural production and management in our country. As a regional manager in the agricultural inputs industry, it is particularly important for me to learn agricultural technologies and promote their application.

China’s cultivated land and grain-sowing area have shown a declining trend year by year. Increasing yield per unit area is the only way to boost total grain production. Meanwhile, China’s fertilizer output has reached 70 million tons—the largest in the world—and its fertilizer application intensity is 3.75 times the global average. However, the fertilizer utilization rate stands at only 25% to 35%, the lowest in the world. Therefore, exploring strategies for reducing fertilizer application while enhancing efficiency—i.e., increasing yields and improving quality and profitability—has become a key agenda item for government departments and agrochemical enterprises. After years of dedicated efforts, Jiangxi Ruibote Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has adopted controlled-release technology to improve fertilizer utilization, leveraged microbial technology to enhance soil fertility and reduce environmental pollution, and thus achieved the goals of reducing fertilizer use, increasing crop yields, and improving product quality.

In ancient China, the period of Chushu was divided into three “hou”: “The first hou: The hawk begins to offer birds as sacrifices; the second hou: Heaven and earth begin to grow solemn; the third hou: The grains ripen and are ready for harvest.” During this seasonal period, hawks start hunting birds in large numbers; all things in heaven and earth begin to wither and fade; and the “he” in “he nai deng” refers collectively to crops such as millet, foxtail millet, rice, and broomcorn—“deng” means ripe or mature, as in the phrase “a bountiful harvest of the five grains.”

Strawberries, also known as red berries, Western berries, or ground berries, are beloved by consumers for their heart-shaped appearance, bright red and tender flesh, juicy texture, high vitamin C content, and distinctive, rich aroma. In spring, when liver fire tends to be more active, eating strawberries can help to suppress it. Strawberries are rich in tannins, which can adsorb and inhibit the absorption of carcinogenic chemicals in the body, thus offering anti-cancer benefits. They contain aspartic acid, which helps remove heavy metal ions from the body. Moreover, the carotene found in strawberries is an essential precursor for the synthesis of vitamin A, providing benefits for eye health and liver nourishment. Strawberries are best enjoyed after meals, as their high pectin and cellulose content can promote gastrointestinal motility, aid digestion, relieve constipation, and help prevent hemorrhoids and colon cancer.
